The Manier Showroom opened in 2010 at Hajós utca 12, located just behind the Opera and in the immediate area where a number of other Hungarian designers have also recently opened their shops. Located in the Sixth District, the neighborhood is home not only to the Opera but also to the operette and a number of other theaters of "Budapest's Broadway." By relocating in this area, the city's designers, too, contribute their creative energies to the development of Budapest's cultural identity. The interior design of the Manier Showroom, which includes a twenty-five-square meter "hanging garden" was created by a team of young designers. The luxury pret-a-porter and designer streetwear in Manier's Showroom represent the designer's motto of "Unique clothing for Unique people" in their quality, individual design, and uniqueness. The designer, Anikó Németh believes that the culture of dressing and design play an increasingly important role iin the conscious building of one's quality of life. The Manier Showroom offers opportunity for guests to get acquainted with the latest collection and to purchase sample designs or to order individual custom made designs for clothing, shoes, and accessories in consultation with the designer, Anikó Németh. It is part of the ongoing mission of the Manier Showroom to take part in the "inhabiting" of the city by collaborating with the other contemporary arts. As part of this collaboration in December, 2009 in the Showroom, then still under construction, Anikó Németh presented her latest collection modelled by "Manier's Muses," non-professional models who added their own personal creativity to the designs. In 2010 Anikó Németh collaborated in the "I Love the Opera House" campaign of the Hungarian State Opera, producing the major open air "Opera Couture" fashion show on the occasion of the season's closing grand Opera Gala where numerous international stars participated. One of the aims of this undertaking was to acquaint opera lovers with a slice of contemporary fashion. OPENING HOURS: In December, 2010 the Manier Showroom presented its open air winter collection, including its "revolving show windows," with the title "When It Freezes" in collaboration with the street performance of the Agostones musical ensemble, and accompanied by outdoor chestnut roasting and hot punch preparation. In April 2011 there followed the "Wonderland" fashion show and in March, 2012. the Spring/Summer show, "Present." Anikó Németh's aim in presenting these street fashion shows is to to free fashion from the closed world of the fashion salon and to be able to give interested audiences the opportunity to experience directly the possibilities of creative dressing, |
